Blue Water Desalination’s Largest System To Date is Capable of Producing Up to 6,200 Gallons (23,500 Liters) Per Day

Signal Hill, California (March 26,2025) – Blue Water Desalination is proud to announce a new level of watermaking capabilities achieved in our newest and largest desalination system yet: the Explorer XL.

The Blue Water Explorer XL series of watermakers offers semi-automatic operation in a wide range of capacities to meet the needs of large yachts, small cruise ships, and commercial vessels.

This robust system is built for reliability, making it an excellent choice for vessels that require consistent, high quality water production. “An advanced design ensures long-term performance with minimal upkeep, which makes it a strong value and investment for large vessels’ equipment,” explains Jim Santa, Blue Water Desalination’s Managing Director.

The open vertical frame increases access for service while minimizing its footprint within the vessel. The standard fresh water flush feature increases membrane life, while the optional media filter can extend service intervals between filter changes.

Key Highlights:

  • Semi-automatic operation
  • Simple LCD screen controller
  • Compact vertical design for easy service & maintenance
  • Fresh water flush system
  • High rejection membranes
  • Expandable to 6,200 gallons per day

Optional Equipment:

  • Remote control
  • Media filter
  • Radial axial pump
